Why We Don’t Appraise
We are printers and not appraisers. We field many phone calls and e-mail requests for the appraised value or history of early Ray Eyerly prints or originals. We won't respond to these requests but the best way to put a value on your prints or originals is by searching eBay or similar auction houses, or by using a professional appraiser. The only history we can provide is by reading the About Ray Eyerly page. People have asked us what the "C" with the circle around it means. It means copyright.
Giclée (pronounced "zhee-clay") is a French word meaning "a spraying of ink". With the advent of giclée, the art of reproducing fine art has become even more precise. Giclée's have a higher apparent resolution than lithographs and a color range that exceeds that of serigraphy. This renders an amazingly smooth and consistent image, a museum quality fine art reproduction. Giclée prints capture every nuance of an original and have gained wide acceptance from artists and galleries throughout the world.
